STRUCTURAL INTEGRITY
In the structural integrity Lab, we characterize the mechanical behavior of a wide variety of materials, steels, castings Aluminum Alloys, Copper, titanium etc, as well as their welded joints.

We have a metallographic laboratory equipped with the latest systems of optical and electronic microscopy, in the we perform macrographic and micrographic tests to determine the macro and microstructure of the samples under test and in this way, assess the fitness of the material.

One of our differential values is the ability to perform all preliminary operations, machining and preparation of tested specimens, in our facilities without the need for outsourcing, maintaining at all times the traceability of samples tested. We can also guarantee at all times the confidentiality of the work since none of the phases of the test are outsourced.

EQUIPMENT:
  • Universal mechanical testing machines with capacities between 600 kN and 100 N.
  • Contact and Video Extensometry.
  • Charpy pendulums adapted to European and American standards (UNE-EN-ISO 148-1, ASTM E 23).
  • Impact machine 1600 J capacity.
  • Metallographic laboratory equipped with:
    • Precision cutters.
    • Automatic polishers.
    • Stuffers.
    • Optical microscopes.
  • Manual Durometers (Brinell, Rockwell, Vickers).
  • Heat treatment furnaces (up to 1200ºC).

STRUCTURAL MECHANICS

Covering the following topics: stress analysis, fatigue behaviour, fracture mechanics, Fitness For Service analysis and failure analysis of components when in-service.

  • Fitness forService Definition of remaining life in operation. Codes and standards: BS 7910, API 579-1/ASME FFS-1.
  • Taylor-made tests.
  • Failure analysis. Fracture Surface analysis, fractographic studies using Scanned Electron Microscopy (SEM).
EQUIPMENT:
  • Universal testing machines, ranging temperatures from -150 to 1000ºC, and loads up to ±1MN for static & dynamic tests.
  • Corrosion-Fatigue equipment for offshore settings tests.
  • Auxiliary equipment for mechanical tests: extensometers, tooling, special clamps, and Digital Imaging Correlation equipment (DIC).
  • Test bench for multiaxial tests. Taylored tests at 1:1 scale. 4 lineal & 1 rotary actuators. Slotted space of 4000x2500mm. Up to 250kN & 32kN·m.
  • Equipment for creep & Stress rupture tests until 1.150ºC & 30kN.
